Who we are
DocForge is a free, non-commercial, open-source prototype. These terms apply to the hosted app at app.docforge.live. You can reach us at support@docforge.live.
The service
DocForge turns finished Word documents into reusable templates, generates new documents from a form, notes, documents or JSON, and checks returned documents against their template. The hosted app runs on Vercel and is free of charge.
It's a prototype
The hosted app is for trying DocForge out. Don't upload confidential documents. Features may change, and the app may be unavailable at times. We may shut the hosted app down; where possible we'll announce this on this website in advance, so you can download your templates first. For real documents, run your own copy from the source code on GitHub.
Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Provide accurate information and keep your credentials safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Acceptable use
Use the app only for lawful purposes. Upload only content you have the right to use. If a document contains other people's personal data, you are responsible for having a legal basis to upload it. Do not attempt to access other accounts' data or to disrupt the service. Technical limits apply: .docx files only, up to 25 MB per file, up to 5 files per analysis.
Your content
You own your documents and templates. You allow us to process them only as far as needed to provide the app to you. We do not use your content to train models. You can download every template version as a .docx.
AI
Every account includes 10 free AI actions, which run on our provider, Anthropic. After that, AI runs only with your own key, under your agreement with the provider you connect, or you can keep working with AI off. AI output can be wrong: review generated documents before you rely on them.
Liability
The hosted app is provided free of charge. We are therefore liable only for intent and gross negligence. This does not limit our liability for injury to life, body or health, for fraudulently concealed defects, or under the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.
Source code
DocForge is open source: the code is published on GitHub under the MIT License. Using the code is governed by that license, not by these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we post the new version here with its date. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account at any time.
Applicable law
German law applies. If you use DocForge as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
